A Reverant God
A WORD FOR THE JOURNEY

Modern religions have developed wrong ideas about God. God is not your buddy or some sort of spiritual genie. Rather God is to be reveranced. Joshua 24 tells us, "Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth..."
The Law teaches us that all who sin are in danger of divine wrath. Today, many would have us believe that the Gospel extinguishes the fire of God's holiness; that somehow it would cancel the day of judgment. Neither of these are true.
Instead, the Gospel also makes a way for the righteousness of God to be given unto us. Romans 1:17 says, "For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ."
While the world is ever-changing, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. And our need for a Savior remains the same.
2 Timothy 1:9-10: Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.
