As a father, I want to share with you some things that I feel are important and necessary to every Godly father. I believe that these are things that you must not compromise.
You must know who you are in Christ. Many men find their identity in their careers, but when your faith is tested and you're guiding your family, who you are in Christ (not your career) will stand secure.
Learning to lead your family means that you know how to lean upon the Word of God. His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (Psalm 119:105)
Daily, pray for and with your children. Your prayers will provide a covering over your children and as you pray with your children, it will teach them to pray.
You must lead by example. Actions speak louder than words. While words are important, actions are the proof of your words. Your example in prayer, worship, church attendance, and lifestyle is the sermon you preach each day.
In doing these things, you will lead your children to a firm relationship with God.
